To the eminent Professor Rumore and Doktor Rumour, http://www.wild2002.com/collaborate/pages/grand.html On the page above you will find what is clearly and obviously the spirit of a dreamer, photographed at the site of the ruined Grand Hotel. http://www.wild2002.com/collaborate/pages/machine.html I have it on good authority that the boiler unit on wheels seen on the left margin of the photograph was used by Verne to distil his prized absinthe, the recipe of which he never revealed but was rumoured to contain the essence of herbal material found in fields near where he grew up. ____________________ Sir Ian M Clothier Explorer Knight Commander of the Most Holy Order of the Nonlinear" Saturday, June 05, 2004 at 09:30 Host: jemmapes-4-82-67-190-59.fbx.proxad.net

I like this story, but I am wondering why Jules Verne went to Australia and not to Krakatoa? :-) Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 14:57 IP: 213.223.34.229

Been there, done that. I still say nothing new here, or with Gus Reaves. Though I will say Rex, your site has come along since I was last there. 8-) Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at 15:52 Host: APastourelles-107-1-4-27.w193-253.abo.wanadoo.fr

David, I'm quite surprised at your comment. I would suggest you vist Gus Reaves'website and inform yourself properly before you sound off again. www.geocities.com/gusreaves/index.html. My own site is under construction, and so forth, but for a quick peek, http://www.geocities.com/rexbwhite/rexpage.html Monday, May 17, 2004 at 13:20 IP: 213.223.34.226

I for one think Gus Reaves is over-rated... have you read The Island at the Centre of the World ? Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 09:32 Host: jemmapes-4-82-67-190-59.fbx.proxad.net

Quite a nice little site. R U aware of Gus Reaves' work? He was of course the first artist to invent this genre and remains the master. I have written about him extensively. Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 09:25 Host: jemmapes-4-82-67-190-59.fbx.proxad.net

note that an anagram of jules verne is jelus nerve, which becomes doubly suspicious when one considers the frequent interchangeability in the 19th century of the gothic scripted s and l, which could produce 'jesus nerve'.. it was a 'nerve cult', among others, which lobbied the US govt to make caving illegal there..
