It was a full day. Our last day on the island. Before we left we were approached by another subject keen to give us information re the Jules Verne rumours. [This subject henceforth is referred to as N!]. With some urgency N! insisted we follow [N!] to a secret location "where certain evidence that we might find helpful, was located" ... we left immediately, leaving the last minute packing and clean up of the penitentiary room to later. N! led us to the old barn overlooking the bay. Once there N! carefully led us inside the barn making sure no-one had followed, we all checked the surrounding countryside for any suspicious figures..especially the park rangers.

It was full of old mechanical equipment which we had noticed previously but thought nothing of. N! had an intriguing tale to tell, involving the Nautilus, Captain Nemo and Edgar Allen Poe. N! pointed out the real nature of some of the mechanical equipment lying around..and it's relationship to Verne's voyages ..then suddenly N! revealed another shocking cover up by the Australian Government in relation to the so-called convict era of Maria Island.

The rest of the day was a mad scramble to pack and prepare for our departure. The smelly boat would return around 1pm to take us off the island - and then the real work of analysis would begin.
