The boat trip across to the island, was the worst we'd experienced since visiting Stromboli.. ghastly. Our first impressions of the island were of the big wheat silos and the lovely pier going out into a pretty bay.

Could this island hold the secret to the centre of the earth?

Our accomodation is the penitentiary, remains of the old convict settlement. Hard to imagine Professor Liedenbrock sleeping in such quarters. Maybe they camped...

There is no electricity in our 'penitiary' rooms, and only a few power points in the mess hall. This will be a challenge.
