Another day of intense exploration and data gathering. There are amazing life forms on this island. Glimpsed so far...

Cape Barron Geese, Forrester kangaroos, Bennets wallabies, a rather large grey wombat and a small nocturnal animal called a pademelon that munches on the graass while we sleep. all the animals and birds are herbivores and vegetarians.

Vegetation is abundant with open forests of eucalpts like the white gum (Eucalyptus viminalis) and gullies filled with ferns.

A unique dialect, or even a language, depending on which linguistic theory you subscribe to- is starting to develop here. Initiated by some eminent Austrian Linguists, it is spreading like a virus, or 'rumour'... they have called it 'Ö-ish'. There may be a connection to the Jules Verne rumour here.
